Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of splitting mats on external fixation of ulna and radius fractures in children. Methods Forty children with ulna and radius fractures admitted to our hospital from May 2012 to October 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. All the children were treated by manual reduction and external fixation with split-bone mats and ordinary small splints. The therapeutic effect was observed. The results were followed up for 1 week to 6 months. Two of them underwent X-ray examination after 1 week, which showed that the fracture displacement was larger and was surgically treated. The remaining 38 cases showed fracture close to anatomic reduction or anatomic reduction at the last follow-up, Blurred lines even disappear, children with forearm function returned to normal. Conclusion It is a relatively safe and effective way to treat ulna and radius fracture in children with manual reduction, splitter pad and common small splint external fixation. Surgery for open ulna and radius fractures or merger of blood vessels, nerve injury and manipulation of patients and then shift patients.
