消费主义以刺激和满足人无限膨胀的物质欲望和意义需求进而获得全球范围内的广泛认同。20世纪90年代以来,通过大众媒介的传播,消费主义在中国日常生活的各个领域已经显现出其广泛影响。在消费主义的冲击下,中国社会大众的生活方式、消费方式、价值观念等均发生了前所未有的巨大变化,与此同时,中国设计也不可避免地受到消费主义的影响而产生异化。消费主义语境中的设计成为其操纵和控制的工具。
Consumerism is widely recognized worldwide for stimulating and satisfying the material desires and needs of the infinite expansion of human beings. Since the 1990s, consumerism has shown its widespread influence in various fields of daily life in China through the mass media. Under the impact of consumerism, great changes have taken place in the lifestyles, consumption patterns and values of Chinese society. At the same time, Chinese design is also inevitably affected by consumerism and alienation. Design in the context of consumerism becomes a tool of manipulation and control.
