As an important opportunistic pathogenic fungus, Candida albicans has a close relationship with cell morphology, cell wall composition and cell growth rate.Through homologous comparison, Candida albicans was cloned CaECM25 gene was constructed and Caecm25 △ / △ deletion mutants were constructed to analyze whether they affect cell morphology, cell wall metabolism and pathogenicity, etc. The results show that the deletion of this gene leads to the abnormal separation of mother cells and daughter cells, The growth rate was obviously slowed down, the elongation of fungal and pseudohyphae was blocked, and the cell adhesion ability was reduced.Experimental animal model showed that the deletion of CaECM25 led to the decrease of virulence of Candida albicans.Accordingly, The CaEcm25p strain is required for cell wall synthesis and metabolism as well as cell morphogenesis, and is associated with its pathogenicity.
