His works have always been concerned with the profound philosophical connotation. Although Shi Tiesheng is famous for his novels, his prose is often loved by many readers for his wise, contemplative and sincere background. In Shi Tiesheng’s prose, he often perceives the world with a sad heart and a solemn and quiet gesture. The incomplete life form and generous and broad spiritual space enable him to stand in the heights of his thoughts and constantly question, ponder and self-transcend life, love, belief and death. It is precisely because of this conscious and courage to face the plight of real life, so that his prose has been unique and profound implication and charm. From an artistic point of view, Shi Tiesheng’s prose particularly likes to use his own soliloquy or a unique way of talking to confide his inner feelings. Urgent questioning, penetrating self-examination, rational reasoning, these factors not only increase the depth and breadth of the expression of prose, but also clearly outline the author’s heavy psychological journey from the time of life breakthrough.
