为了改善发动机气门驱动系统的动态特性和提高进、排气效率,改进凸轮外形设计是十分重要的,并且先后提出了不少设计方法。但是,这些方法都未能对气门驱动系统动态特性的主要指标同反映进、排气效率之间的内在联系,进行定量的分析,以致在设计过程中,对相互矛盾的指标顾此失彼,即使经过多次试选、验算,也难以在满足气门驱动系统动态特性的前提下,获得较高的进、排气效率。
