CO was bubbled into the THF solution of FeI_2 and reacted with N, N-bis (diphenylphosphino) amino acid methyl ester at room temperature to form a dark green crystalline solid trans-Fe (CO) _2I_2 [RCHN (PPh_2) _2CO_2CH_3 (R = H, a, R = CH_3, b; R = PhCH_2, c) can exist stably in air at room temperature.The complex a is analyzed by X-ray diffraction.The crystal is orthorhombic and the space group is A = 1.7399 (8) nm, b = 3.0201 (14) nm, c = 1.7919 (8) nm, α = β = γ = 90 ° and V = 9.416 (7) nm ~ 3, Z = 2, calc = 1.742 mg / mm ~ 3, F (000) = 4800. This labeling method provides an easy and convenient way to label biomolecules with metal carbon-based fragments.
