Objectives Hypertensive nursing plays an important role in the improvement of the disease, and the effect of nursing with Newman health care system in hypertensive patients is discussed. Methods A total of 120 hypertensive patients admitted to the People’s Hospital of Chaoan District, Guangdong Province from May 2014 to June 2016 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was given 60 routine nursing interventions. The observation group was given 60 cases of Newman system nursing intervention. The changes of blood pressure before and after nursing care and the changes of quality of life scores after admission and discharge were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in blood pressure between the two groups before nursing (P> 0.05). After treatment, the blood pressure in both groups decreased significantly. The systolic blood pressure (121.03 ± 7.21) mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure (78.65 ± 5.32) mm Hg in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P 0.05). The overall quality of life of patients in the observation group after treatment was significantly better than that of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Newman’s health-care system can effectively control blood pressure and improve patient quality of life.
