笔者以调查问卷的形式,就关于英语泛读课中词汇的策略问题,对内蒙古工业大学外国语学院30名英语专业大三的学生进行了调查分析。调查结果表明,63.3%的学生认为在英语泛读课中面临的主要问题是不能很好的理解文章,而56.7%的同学认为影响阅读理解的主要因素是词汇问题。为此,笔者提出英语泛读课中应对英语词汇问题常用的三种策略:第一,通过语境猜词;第二,通过构词法猜词;第三,借助英文词典扩大词汇量同样不容忽视。针对英语专业泛读课生词量较大这一特点,掌握应对词汇问题的一些策略有助于提高学生的学习效率。
In the form of a questionnaire, the author conducted a survey and analysis of 30 junior college students of English major in the School of Foreign Languages, Inner Mongolia University of Technology on the strategy of vocabulary in the course of extensive reading of English. The survey results show that 63.3% of students think that the main problem in reading EFL is not to understand the article well, while 56.7% of students think that the main factor that affects reading comprehension is vocabulary. Therefore, the author proposes three common strategies to deal with English vocabulary problems in EFL reading: first, word detection through context; second, word prediction through word formation; and thirdly, expanding vocabulary through English dictionaries should not be overlooked. In view of the fact that the English majors have a large amount of vocabulary in the classroom, some strategies to deal with vocabulary problems can help to improve students’ learning efficiency.
