Issue 5, 2008 This issue of “The Decoupling Debate,” published by The Economist, discusses the relevance of advanced and emerging market economies. This issue is discussed again. The issue of “decoupling” refers to the differences in the recovery of developed economies after the global financial crisis and the author’s response to the relevant theories that emerged. In a nutshell, this is the title of the article “weird decoupling ”. After the end of the second quarter, the European debt crisis eased, but the poor economic data released by advanced economies since then (especially the US real estate and employment data) made investors once again worried about economic growth. As the largest economy in the world, the United States indeed has the power to influence the whole body. Despite the difficult economic recovery and the complicated economic situation, the liberalized global economy has made it impossible for each of the participating economies to “decouple” from each other.
