北京市通县张家湾镇自1985年在北京市远郊县中第一个成为亿元乡以来,经济一直保持着良好的发展势头。1989年,全镇社会总产值突破三个亿,又列全市远郊区县的榜首,达到3.6亿元,相当于1978年的36倍;人均所得1771元,相当于1978年的15倍;工业总产值达到2.65亿元,占社会总产值的72.9％。张家湾经济迅速发展的重要的一条经验就是注重发展职业技术教育和成人教育,逐步形成了农村教育与乡镇企业发展有机结合、相互促进的教育体系。
