Objective To investigate the expression and significance of b-FGF, VEGF and their receptors in the early stage of acute radiation-induced skin ulcer. Methods The animal model of acute radiation-induced skin ulcer was established by a single local irradiation with 50Gy60Coγ-rays. The skin wounds were established by surgical methods. The expressions of b-FGF, VEGF and VEGF were detected by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization Body expression. Results The expression of b-FGF and VEGF in granulation tissue was strongly positive from 5 to 10 days after wounding. The expression of b-FGF and VEGF in granulation tissue of radiated ulcer was positive from 21 to 28 days after irradiation, but was significantly higher than that from 5 to 10 days after wounding Weakened. Conclusion The decrease of radiation-induced b-FGF and VEGF expression is associated with delayed healing of acute radiation-induced skin ulcers.
