The case was located in a neoclassical building with a long history in the heart of Tel Aviv, built by architect Yosef Berlin in 1925 and now included in the list of Tel Aviv’s building protection plans. The first floor of the apartment building was once home to David Ben Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister, giving the building and the apartment a thicker, more legendary history. In order to increase the volume of space without damaging the façade and structure, the design team decided to build a basement. Due to the complex conditions of reconstruction, construction is very difficult. The design team created a spacious work space in the new basement, which is located near the hollow of the stairs.
