通过对自然双折射晶体Nd∶YVO4偏振特性的研究,采用带有楔角的Nd∶YVO4晶体进行电光调Q,腔内可以不加入偏振片,这种设计有简化腔内元件、缩短腔长和降低损耗的优点,可得到更高的功率和更窄的激光脉冲宽度。实验使用尺寸3 mm×3 mm×5 mm,10°楔角的Nd∶YVO4晶体,用La3Ga5SiO14晶体作为退压式调Q元件,在1 kHz重复频率下,获得平均输出功率2.2 W,脉冲宽度6.3 ns,光-光转换效率39.2%,峰值功率超过300 kW的激光输出。
