我们伟大的祖国是一个农产品极其丰富的国家。栽培着各种各样的农作物。但是在解放以前我国的农作物尤其是技术作物的发展是受着很大限制的。甜菜(又称(?)菜、塘蘿蔔、糖用甜菜)就是这样的一种技术作物.还在两年半以前,在1951年10月21日人民日报就指出“我国东北、华北和西北都出产甜菜,它是制糖的原料之一。过去由於国民党反动政府收购原料价格极不合理以及农业试验工作极不健全,以致它的产量和品质都日(?)退化。现在情况完全不同了,今年东北的甜菜获得丰收……”
