《追梦之路:移民与移民国》是以美国移民的追梦之路作为切入点,引导学生阅读美国托马斯·索威尔《美国种族简史》及其他辅助材料,每一章节以学生阅读、教师示范、拓展迁移为基本环节。课程开设对象为高一、高二的学生,通过阅读,学生在了解美国移民文化的基础上,学习移民勇于开拓、勇于挑战、勤劳节俭的精神;吸取美国现代化道路的经验;赏析美国移民群体文化的美;理解美国多元文化中坚持共性又兼容并包的精神。如第三章中有这样一段话:“这批德裔中,最与世隔绝的要算——现在也还是——阿密什人,他
