诗歌不但是审美的,而且是社会的,所以,诗人的心理环境在某种程度上即是文化政治的副本。虽然是“自白派”的中坚力量,但作为一位有着强烈性别意识和政治意识的女诗人,西尔维亚·普拉斯敏锐地把握住了美国20世纪五六十年代的政治环境和社会环境,并将其融会到诗歌语言中。在其诗歌作品中,身份政治、性别政治及生态政治话语的介入使“自白诗”貌似私人化的写作具有了模糊公私空间界限、揭示病态社会的积极价值和意义。
