From the beginning of the Middle Ages to the second half of the twentieth century, French novel names underwent a process of change from concrete, unitary to abstract and diversified: the proportion of simple and intuitive novels titles named after protagonists and story sites gradually decreased, The summary, the title of generic class name gradually increased. The reason is not only the development and change of literature itself, but also the mutual infiltration and influence of Eastern and Western cultures, and more people’s thinking and exploration of traditional values. The subversion of traditional values and literary concepts led to the confusion of the inner spiritual world following the direction of the highly generalized novels.
