During the process of daily oral communication, people unconsciously reuse the words, phrases, syntactic structures and other components of the front speakers or historical predecessors in the immediate context. This resonates between the discourse of himself and the speaker in front. Inspired by Bakhtin’s discourse theory, Jakobson’s parallel theory and Harris’s discourse analysis program, Du Bois developed a dialogue-based syntactic theory from the perspective of social cognition with the aim of revealing the symbols and symbols of human communication Between and through the symbolic expression of the interventional structure. This dissertation synthesizes Du Bois ’s and related scholars’ research on dialogue syntax over the past three decades and presents the main context of dialogue syntax theory.
