叶灵凤(1904～1975)是创造社后期重要的作家、画家。原名叶蕴璞,笔名有林丰、霜崖、灵凤等,他的早期创作主要在小说方面:主要有:《女娲氏之遗孽》、《菊子夫人》、《鸠绿媚》、《处女的梦》等短篇集及《红的天使》、《时代姑娘》、《永久的女郎》、《未完的忏悔录》、《紫丁香》、《爱的滋味》、《穷愁的自传》等长篇。随着改革开放,大陆在80年代以来相继出版或重印了他的小说和散文,介绍、评论叶灵凤的文章也越来越多。 叶灵凤有着多方面的文艺才华,他不仅能写小说、散文、杂谈,还能翻译,而且擅长装帧插图。他在艺术方面作了一番探索,并留下了自己的创作特色。朱寿桐在《情绪:创造社的诗学宇宙》中指出:“叶灵凤独辟蹊径,显示出新异的美学风采。”他认为“创造社‘小伙计’中创作最多,也最有才气和功力的是叶灵凤。这是一个因种种原因为历史所忽略了的作家,是一个无论从哪方面看都是创造社最有希望的后起之秀”。诚然,叶灵凤的性爱小说主流,但其主题是美的憧憬、爱的讲座,其艺术价值是颇高的,郁达夫说:“天才的作品……以常人的眼光来看,终究是不能理解的。”“文艺是天才的创造物”,叶灵凤笃信“艺术家是美的创造者”,这应该是我们解读叶灵凤小说的一把钥匙。北大教授孙玉石先生说过“凡是美的东?
