贯流式水轮发电机组,结构紧凑,效率高,适用于低水头水电站。装置这种机组的水电站,水工建筑物简单,投资少,建设时期短。我国各地中小河流很多,现已建成大量的中小型水库、灌溉渠道、跌水等工程。建设贯流式水轮发电机组的水电站,就有可能经济地利用这些低落差的水利资源,支援农业。这些电站目标分散,厂房较小,易于伪装隐蔽,在战争时期,便于分散供电,具有战略意义。在缺乏煤炭和没有条件修建高水头水电站的地区,利用贯流式水轮发电机组发展低水头水电站,能迅速填补供电空白地区,逐步培养负荷,形成小电力系统,可以帮助改变我国电力工业的布局。近几年来,我国在贯流式水轮发电机组的研究、设计方面,已进行了不少工作,现正在逐步提高设计和制造水平,为广泛采用提供有利条件。水利水电科学技术情报研究所搜集了国内外资料,写成这篇文章,可供研究这种机组应用的初步参考。
