With the teaching of Language being more and more communication-oriented, the traditional classroom teaching is facing a big challenge and is being replaced by the “learner-centred” one. This means that learners will assume greater responsibility for their own learning. This paper introduces briefly some of the recent theoretical literature on EFL autonomous learners, and explores the way to implement learner autonomy in teaching and learning.
