In 1987 and June, a group of jade articles were unearthed from Neolithic sites in Lingjiatan, Anhui Province. Among them, jade turtles and jade flakes, which were placed on the chest and abdomen of tomb masters, were the first discovered new materials, arousing academic concern. In this paper, we will make a comparison between the patterns of the octagonal square patterns on the jade turtle and the jade pieces with the unearthed patterns and patterns on the sites such as Dawenkou in Shandong, Liu Lin in Pixian County in Jiangsu and Songze in Shanghai so as to explore their origin and evolution.
