A new use of ultrasound is under study: to stimulate myocardial contractions. Researchers from the Canadian National Research Council (NRC) and the University of Ottawa Cardiology have so far found that studies of human arterial tissue, isolated animal hearts and thoracic animals have found that ultrasound can double systolic blood pressure and diastolic Pressure drop down.
