OBJECTIVE: To compare the degree of agreement among psychiatrists with different cultural backgrounds in assessing various symptoms of ADHD children and explore the possible impact of culture on the diagnosis of ADHD. Methods: Using a single or collective behavioral observation checklist, psychiatrists in both places performed symptom assessment on various manifestations of ADHD. All evaluators observed the behavior of children on the same videotape. The results of the assessment were statistically analyzed and Compare Results: There were 11 items of 12 items in children’s independent activity observation scale, which were rated as similar. Three British doctors scored higher than Chinese doctors, and nine Chinese doctors scored higher than British doctors, of which 1 was significant difference. CONCLUSIONS: Cultural differences in behavioral and symptom perception may lead to different results in epidemiological studies, even in countries with different cultural backgrounds, using a combination of diagnostic criteria and symptom rating scales as a diagnostic tool for ADHD Rate can still be inconsistent
