After many years of experimental research, Soviet horticulturists have succeeded in planting vegetables in waste mines. Because of its economic efficiency is very significant, has been in all parts of the country to promote mining. According to the test, vegetables, such as cucumber, tomato and edible mushrooms, are grown under mines more than 300 meters deep from the ground, yield and quality are very satisfactory. The shape and size of the cucumber are indistinguishable from those planted on the ground, while the color is deeper, the flavor is stronger and the flavor is better. The determination of carbohydrates and vitamin C content increased, especially vitamin C content increased 2-3 times. Tomatoes have the same color and taste as the ground planted with vitamin C content slightly below the ground, but tomatoes grown under the mines are easy to store and are suitable for long-distance transport. Therefore, the quality of vegetables grown under mines can compete with those grown on the ground.
