康德《纯粹理性批判》的两篇序言对形而上学做出了不同的解释。在1781年《纯粹理性批判》第一版的序言中,康德试图恢复形而上学对知识的统治权,即他试图创造出不同于其前的形而上学以达到将所有的知识加以统一化的目的;在1789年的第二个版本中,形而上学则以康德称之为具体的、科学的形而上学出现。康德为《纯粹理性批判》所写的两个不同序言暗含了一种思想的转变,这种转变表达着近现代哲学学科化的特征,打破了西方传统哲学将形而上学视为所有知识基础的传统,其结果是以研究形而上学为任务的哲学逐渐丧失了传统特征,越来越成为近代意义上的一般性学科。
The two prefaces to Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason make a different interpretation of metaphysics.
