第一节 选词填空

选词填空有两种形式,一是句子选择;二是对话选择。
这类题主要是考查学生对词汇意义的分辨和应用,同时也考查学生对上下文的理解。因此,我们首先要弄清楚句子的意思,然后考虑句子的成分与词的词性,最后填入单词。
名题精析

误区警示
做此类题最容易犯的错误一是没有看清和分析每一道题的意思,胡乱写个答案就了事,比如上面的2和4小题,如果没有看第4小题,第二题很容易就选A和D了;第4题选D和I是因为这两个词和“chopsticks”是同一类,都是属于用餐工具。二是忽略所给词汇的用法。比如3和5小题,“look”和“are”都是联系动词,后面都可以接形容词或者是名词,“cool”和"smart”是形容人的精神面貌,而“relaxing”和“fascinating”是说明地方的“悠闲”和“迷人”,了解了意思,很快就能作出选择。

词形变换主要是检测以下词之间的转换:1.名词单复数。2.人称代词主格与宾格,物主代词的三种形式及反身代词。3.名词与形容词之间的转化,形容词与副词的转化,形容词、副词的比较等级等。4.系表结构用法。5.数词的用法。6.动词的变换,等等。总之,做题时一定要根据情景去转化。

这几年仍然在部分省市的中考英语试题里出现“词语释义”题型,一般是占2分到5分,以选择题的形式出现在单项选择和阅读理解中,有中文和英文解释两种形式。主要是考查学生运用英语思维的能力。复习时,可从以下几个方面记忆:
1.同义词,近义词。如:ill-sick;holiday-vacation;fast-quick/quickly。
2.反义否定词。young-not old;easy-not hard。
3.句子解释,意思相同或相近。Saturday-thelast day of the week;actor-man who acts on the stage,TV or in films。

4.此题难度较大,但是我们只要理解句子的意思以及分辨四个选项的含义,就不难作出选择。句子意思是“你能快速浏览一下我的报告吗?”而只有“look through”有“浏览”的意思。答案为:A。
5.这道题和第4小题一样,要根据上下文去理解。just a small potato在英语里是一个俗语,表示小人物的意思。not important是表示不重要,那就是小人物了。答案为:D。

从上面的例子分析,我们可以知道,词语释义的较难点在于掌握易混词和谚语、俗语这两方面,因此我们在复习当中要注意收集、比较这些词的用法,还要多练,这样才能“屡战屡胜”。

为了做好这种类型的题目,我们在复习中要收集同义词和近义词,如:fall-autumn,decide-makeup one’s mind;常用的多义词,如:go,作为行为动词,它是“去”的意思,作为联系动词,它后面常接形容词构成系表结构,表示不好的转变,比如:go mad(发疯),还有它的固定句型:go doing,如:go shop-ping,go hiking;还有常见的易混词,如:look at,lookafter,look out,look out of,look up等。我们除了要手动,口动,还要心动,这样才能有成效。

现在考试越来越侧重对学生能力的检测,考查学生对语篇的整体理解。完形填空不仅检查学生的词汇知识、语法知识、固定搭配,而且还检查学生对整篇文章逻辑思维、情景交际的实际应用以及综合判断、分析归纳的能力。因此,这个板块的分量越来越重,从原来的10分增加到这几年的15分。
完形填空有以下几种题型:语言知识型,包括语法、句型、句式、词汇在特定环境中的用法;判断推理型,主要是考查对文章的整体理解,句子、段落间的连接,逻辑思维和判断推理的能力;综合型,也就是对知识和能力的综合运用。

完形填空的文章,从体裁来说多是说明文和议论文,从题材来说比较广泛,但主要以社会生活、科普、经济和常识方面的内容为主。
完形填空主要考查考生对一些语言要素(语法、词汇、上下文逻辑关系、历史背景)的掌握程度。要求考生有扎实的语法知识和丰富的词汇量,同时有较强的阅读能力。所以考生在平时复习中要有意识的积累和区分一些近义词、基本的语法知识和特殊的语法现象,考生在做题目时要上下求索,前瞻后顾,前后一致。另外,想提高完形填空的正确率需要注意以下几个方面。一是要明白文章的大意,要着眼于作者的观点,要根据上下文内容选择正确的词汇;二是要根据上下旬的逻辑关系,根据语法规则选择正确的答案;三是最好能够抽出一点时间,将答案放在文章中读一遍,检查一下答案的正确性。
