In the area of intricate power of contemporary Taiwan poetry, Taiwan poets who came from different geographies at different times revolved the struggle for symbolic power again and again around the issue of the relationship between the West and China in the process of Taiwan’s modernization. In the 1950s and 1960s, some of Taiwan’s foreigners, such as Ji Xian and some other ancient Chinese poets, greatly influenced the characteristics of “surrealism,” “originality,” and “purity,” of poetry, Modernist poetry has entered a path of attaching importance to Western culture, ignoring reality and neglecting national culture. As a result, inequalities between the western cultural capital in Taiwan’s new poetry field and the owners of Chinese cultural capital came into being. It is precisely this repressive nature of power that led to the emergence of a challenge model and competing power model by Taiwan’s new generation of poets in the 1970s. That is to say, it is precisely the Orientalist consciousness implied in Western modernity and the tendency toward self-Orientalism in some of Taiwan’s predecessor poems, which have inspired the strong national feelings of Taiwan’s new generation of poets. It is generally believed that since the late 1970s, Taiwan’s new generation of native writers have generally shifted their emphasis on praising Taiwan’s consciousness by resisting local consciousness. In fact, although there has been a problem of deviation and confusion in the national identity of Taiwan’s new generation of native poets since the late 1970s, in general terms, it follows the path of identification and orientation of perceptual and rational integration through perceptual identity Developed
