川草1号老芒麦(ElymussibircusL.cv.chuancaoNo.1)(原品系编号为802320下同)是根据我所1980年拟定的禾草育种计划以川西北高原寒温气候地区(若尔盖高原为主)为育种服务区域,用阿坝县本地老芒麦为育种原始材料,以提高产草量、叶量率,延长利用年限,播种当年生长迅速和选育需肥水平低的品种为育种目标,应用系统选择方法育成的优良品种。自1980年选单株开始经历了“选单株-株系-系统-品比-生产试验和多点示范”等育种程序。育成的802320老芒麦,主要经济性状和枝条生长特点与原始群体有较大差异,表现为苗期叶片宽短,叶色较淡,株丛整齐,株高较原始材料高5厘米,总枝条数多45.6%,并且具有原始材料所没有的“短根茎”。育成品种的产草量,利用年限,播种当年生长状况和适应性以及需肥水平等,均达到了育种的预期目标。在川西北高原普通生产条件下,年产风干草可达7500kg/公顷,较之本地原有老芒麦增产21%以上,最高可达40%左右。在同一栽培条件下年度间增产率相当稳定,(S=±3.7%)。且因需肥水平低,在高原平坝草场普遍可以种植,亦可在省内山地温带气候地区种植。目前已在红原、松潘、壤塘、若尔盖等县?
