约瑟夫·博伊斯的“社会雕塑”概念对现今当代艺术家仍有着不容忽略的重要影响,不过也有评论家认为,很难从他的作品中看到“社会雕塑”的内容,相反“社会雕塑”以及“扩展的艺术观念”却在他的对话、演讲以及行动中得以体现。随着9月初“社会雕塑:博伊斯在中国”的展出,关于博伊斯的话题进一步被人们所讨论,却鲜见有其本人的文本。本期解读我们即分享博伊斯本人的文章:《我在搜寻场域特征》是博伊斯在参加过1972年卡塞尔文献展之后对“社会雕塑”的简要说明,而《直接民主局一天的事项记录》正是他在文献展上的一次行为记录。或许通过更直接的阅读,我们可以更好的理解他的“社会雕塑”。
The concept of “social sculpture” by Joseph Beuys still has an important influence on contemporary artists. However, some critics also think it is very difficult to see the contents of “social sculpture” from his works.
