镁食可防糖尿病每天应吃富含镁的食物,如绿叶蔬菜、谷类、豆类、麦芽和全麦制品。辣椒、紫菜、坚果等含镁量也比较高。美国一顶大规模调查表明,富含镁的食物能预防2型糖尿病。另一项研究显示,增加镁摄入量,女性糖尿病发病危险可减低10%,超重妇女可减低20%。通常人们不易缺镁。而有些疾病,如糖尿病、甲亢、肾炎、慢性腹泻等,能促使镁的排泄增多。有的药物,如新霉素、厌大霉素、维生素D等可引起镁缺乏。嗜酒者和常吃高蛋白饮食也可消耗大量的镁。缺镁致癌已被科学家的实验研究证明。
