脱轨试验是铁道部的重大科研试验项目之一。由沈阳铁路局主持,铁科院、专业设计院和通信信号公司参加的脱轨装置试验工作,于10月16~24日在沈丹线陈相屯车站进行。对滑块式脱轨器、脱轨尖轨和止轮脱轨器等三种脱轨装置各部件的强度及机车车辆脱轨的可靠性进行了试验。目前我国使用的Ⅹ—9801型脱轨器,不能有效地使机车车辆脱轨,已不能适应轴重大、速度高的运输要求,为保证接发列车安全,迅速改变目前线路隔开设备上存在的严重不安全因素,沈阳铁路局针对既有脱轨器存在的车轮跳越脱轨器,脱轨器不起脱轨作用等问题,研制、设计了脱轨尖轨、止轮脱轨器和改进了滑块式脱
