BCG-activated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNC) were used as tumor killer cells - BAK cells to observe the cytotoxic effect on the transplanted epithelial tumor cell line BTA and 11 primary cultured cells. The results showed that BCG alone had no cytotoxic effect on the cultured tumor cells; NK cells showed only low cytotoxicity, specific killing rate of BTA was 17.63% BAK cells were 31.26% and 19.16% (P <0.05), LAK cells were 35.53% and 24.21%, respectively. The cytotoxicity against BTA cells The effect of LAK cells> BAK cells (P <0.05) had no significant difference on the cytotoxicity of primary cells between LAK cells and BAK cells (P> 0.05). BAK cells are considered to be a type of tumor killer cell that is distinct from LAK cells and play an important role in the anti-tumor effect of BCG.
