Iron balance plays an important role in the normal operation of the body. Elevated levels of iron may induce oxidative stress and free radical generation, which may be related to the pathogenesis of many neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. Therefore, maintaining iron Balance is crucial for the prevention of these diseases. This article reviews the effects of age and gender on iron balance, as well as the transport and storage patterns of iron and the various regulatory mechanisms of iron transport to and from cells. By explaining that aging can lead to the accumulation of iron, men are more likely than women Elevated iron levels and multiple proteins that control the transport, storage, and transport of iron can affect iron balance at various molecular levels in order to find therapeutic strategies to prevent or retard the progression of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease Provide ideas and basis.
