孙陵是九一八事变之后走上文坛的东北作家,抗战时期相当活跃,但由于抗战胜利后、尤其是1948年赴台后政治倾向方面的缘故,中国现代文学史将其“遗忘”三十余年,20世纪80年代中期才“打捞”回来,已有的关注主要集中在两个方面:一是其文学生涯的综述;二是对其抗日小说意涵与审美特征的分析。其实,其散文创作也可圈可点,1940年出版的散文集《突围记》即是其代表作。这部散文集篇幅不多,但内容丰富,且富于艺术个性,尤其是被借用为书名的报告文学《突围记》,写出了随枣会战中国军队突围历程的艰险、将士的英勇、机智,也展示出部队宣传工作人员的情怀与叙事者的心路历程。景物描写亦是《突围记》的一大亮点。
