有明一代,盐政与河工、漕运同为攸关国计民生的要政之一。在明代盐政的研究中,盐商守支是一个较为重要的问题。所谓盐商守支,是指盐商响应朝廷开中赴边纳粮后,朝廷却没有足额现成的官盐供其支取,使盐商被迫困守盐场,长期候支。作为明代盐政独有的一种现象,守支曾长期存在于两淮、两浙以及长芦等主要盐运司,尤以在两淮为久、为烈,给当时明廷盐政带来极大困扰。盐商困守支的现象长期存在,致使明代各地盐课收入受到严重影响,明廷被迫不断调整相关政
