【Abstract】In the digital era,with the rapid development of the computer technology,the possibility and interest of utilizing Internet in L2 language classrooms has gradually increased.In particular,as a useful tool for enhancing language learning and teaching the computer-mediated communication(CMC)through the Internet has become extremely popular over the last five years.Based on the previous literatures,this essay aims not only to discuss a string of actual merits of CMC in terms of L2 teaching and learning but also some demerits belong to it.Furthermore,in order to achieve the most appropriate way to implement CMC into the L2 classroom,some possible solutions for dealing with those disadvantages will also be suggested.
