The paper introduces the evolution of architectural heritage protection from ideological theory to operational methodology since the end of World War II. Such as the gradual understanding of the heritage resources, the scope of concern extends from monuments and archaeological sites to historical towns and cultural landscapes, focusing on the protection process as part of social and cultural sustainable development. As a result, the article emphasizes the importance of the heritage community in the protection process. In view of the increasingly diverse stakeholder groups, the article highlights the extreme importance of expanding and strengthening professional and amateur training programs. Finally, the article also explores the trends of “flattening” and assimilation of local lifestyles in the context of globalization and the problems that have arisen from them, and puts forward some solutions to the protection of architectural heritage education.
