《尚书·盘庚》“中”篇有“兹予有乱政同位 ,具乃贝玉”一句。自“伪孔传”以来 ,多释为当时的贵族聚敛财富 ,“不念尽忠 ,但念贝玉而已” ,言其贪。治货币史者也常以此句说明商代以贝为币。这样的解释放在全文中上下不通。此处的贝玉不是指财富 ,而是指丧礼中为死者实口的葬具 ,即“饭含” ,比喻准备去死。这是盘庚用于劝导、吓唬贵族们的语言 ,与货币完全无关
