As the ZigBee protocol becomes more common in a variety of embedded systems and applications, engineers need to be able to validate and verify the performance of ZigBee modules quickly and efficiently. This system-level task is further complicated by the presence of radio frequency (RF) signals and the need to consider the interaction of analog, digital and radio frequency signals. In this article, a new type of oscilloscope called a hybrid domain oscilloscope (MDO whose name stems from its inclusion of spectrum analysis circuitry) can help ease the ZigBee testing task.
