驻京喇嘛是清朝政府从信仰藏传佛教地区调入北京及周边地区任职的较有影响的藏传佛教高僧,包括在北京等地藏传佛教寺院出家的满、蒙、汉喇嘛。驻京喇嘛制度则规范了对驻京喇嘛群体的管理,增强了驻京喇嘛对国家的服从性,使其在政治统治中发挥了更大的作用。清朝政府引导驻京喇嘛参与各种政治、宗教活动,通过他们在蒙藏地区的宗教影响力来贯彻执行清政府的各项统治政策;蒙藏地区的僧俗民众对藏传佛教高僧高度尊崇和信任,认同清朝政府对蒙藏地区治理所制定的措施与制度,从而维护了当时国家的统一、民族的团结、边疆的稳定。
The Lama in Beijing is a more influential monk of Tibetan Buddhism who moved to Beijing and the surrounding areas from the areas of Tibetan Buddhism, including the Manchu, Mongolian and Chinese lamas who were Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Beijing and other places. The system of Lamaism in Beijing regulated the management of the groups of Lamas in Beijing and strengthened the obedience of the Lama in Beijing to the state and played a greater role in the political rule. The Qing government guided the Lama in Beijing to take part in various political and religious activities and implemented the Qing government’s various policies through their religious influence in Mongolian and Tibetan areas. The monks and lay people in Mongolian and Tibetan areas highly respected and trusted the monks in Tibetan Buddhism , Agreeing with the measures and systems formulated by the Qing government for the governance of the Mongolian and Tibetan areas, thus safeguarding the unification of the country, the unity of the nation and the stability of the frontier.
