负压钻井（又称欠平衡压力钻井）技术产生于３０年代，９０年代在美国、加拿大等国得到迅速发展，现已成为我国石油钻井行业的一个重要研究项目。负压钻井有利于发现和保护油气层，提高机械钻速，降低钻井完井成本，提前产油产气，提高油气产量，经济效益显著。负压钻井适用范围正在拓宽，负压钻井技术仍在发展，负压钻井成本还可降低。
Negative-pressure drilling (also known as underbalanced pressure drilling) technology was developed in the 1930s. In the 1990s, it developed rapidly in the United States, Canada and other countries. It has become an important research project in China’s oil drilling industry. Negative pressure drilling is beneficial to discovering and protecting oil and gas reservoirs, increasing ROP, reducing drilling and completion costs, producing oil and gas ahead of schedule, and increasing oil and gas production, resulting in significant economic benefits. The scope of application of negative pressure drilling is widening, negative pressure drilling technology is still developing, negative pressure drilling costs can be reduced.
