The basic theory of electromagnetic properties of two-dimensional periodic composite films is given. The two-dimensional sinusoidal periodic composite films and non-resonant two-dimensional periodic composite films are studied experimentally. In a two-dimensional sinusoidal periodic composite film system, the reflection and radiation characteristics change at wavelengths equal to the periodic value.
