《触龙说赵太后》中“持其踵为之泣,念悲其远也,亦哀之矣”一句,《教参》在译文中将“哀”对译为“哀怜”。笔者认为不妥,“哀”在这里当释为“爱”,即“疼爱”之意。理由如下:一、从触龙和赵太后对话的文意来看,他们原为争男女之爱而引出对长安君和燕后的爱的比较。触龙打开进谏大门的一段话可分为三层来理解:1.提出爱子的原则——计深远;2.从送燕后出嫁事说明太后对燕后的爱之深;3.从嫁后的祝祷赞扬太后爱燕后符合“计深远”的爱子原则。其中写送嫁时的情景很感动人。因“亦哀之矣”之前有“泣”,“悲”两
