周敦颐,号濂溪先生(1017-1073),是宋代著名的大学问家。周敦颐在年轻时,曾出任某县法官,并为一桩错案而与县太爷激辩公堂。 该案被告系一酒徒,因酒醉持刀要挟路人,县太爷枉判为“图财害命,斩首示众”。 周敦颐直言指出:“酒醉胡闹,并非真为图财害命,况且经人劝告,又未有伤人行为,如若判为死囚问斩,岂不过之太远?”

Zhou Dunyi bluntly pointed out: “drunken nonsense, not really for financial fortune, Moreover, the people advised, but not wounding, Ruoyi sentenced to death row cut, would not it be too far?”
