“运墨而五色具”之说,见于唐代张彦远《历代名画记·论画体工用拓写·论用墨》:“夫阴阳陶蒸,万象错布,玄化亡言,神工独运。草木敷荣,不待丹碌之采;云雪飘飏,不待铅粉而白;山不待空青而翠;风不待五色而綵(彩)。是故运墨而五色具,谓之得意。意在五色,则物象乖矣。”此语大意为:阴阳冲荡变化,则万象错杂,此中造化,惟神思方可得之。绘事要在得物象之意,如此则墨色
