田雷教授来信,邀我谈谈在中美两地讲“美国宪法史”课的经历和感受,我感到很荣幸。我第一次开与美国宪法史相关的课程是在1993年秋,当时刚拿到博士学位,在哈佛大学做博士后研究。后来在目前任教的宾州印第安纳大学(Indiana University of Pennsylvania,IUP),开过好几门宪法史的专题课(从研究生到本科生的研讨课)和宪法史通史课,也在国内南开大学和北京大学为历史系
It is an honor for Professor Tian Lei to send a letter and invite me to talk about the experience and feelings of “American History of Constitutions” in China and the United States. The first course I started relating to the history of the American constitution was in the fall of 1993 when I first got a Ph.D. and did postdoctoral research at Harvard University. Later in the current Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), I held several thematic history of constitutional history (seminars from graduate students to undergraduates) and the History of Constitution History classes, but also in Nankai University and Beijing University for the history department
