At 22 o’clock on the night of March 20, 1913, Song Jiaoren took a train from Shanghai to Beijing. When Song walked to the ticket-cutting office at the entrance of the station, Song Gang reached out to pick up the tickets for the ticket collector. Shouted: “I shot, assassin.” I saw a little man wearing a black uniform, fled from the crowd desperate. At that time, Huang Xing, a friend of Song, immediately sent Song to Shanghai-Nanjing Railway Hospital for treatment. Surgical forceps were taken out of the bullet that night and found the bullets toxic and the injuries were serious. On the morning of the 22nd, due to the outbreak of drug poisoning, he died.
