According to the propositional guiding ideology of the “big and small comprehensive” programs of Guangdong Province and Zhejiang Province in the year of 2000, it can be seen that “comprehensive subjects” are not simply a “platter” of relevant subjects in secondary schools, but rather they place importance on knowledge. The holistic nature is dominated by competency testing. It examines the basic knowledge of these relevant courses that students learn in secondary school, the mastery of basic skills, and the analysis and solution using these basic knowledge.
