In view of the possible collapsing geological disasters in the long-distance oil and gas pipeline project, the hazards of rockfalls of different buffer layer thickness with different height and different scales are analyzed. Taking rocky slope of K0526 + 300 of Lancheng-Yu product pipeline as the research object, the size of the model was determined according to the degree of its joint-fissure development and the characteristics of collapsing rockfall in the “5.12” earthquake, and the energy of rockfall was measured by RocFall software. Velocity, trajectory, position of impact point and maximum impact force were calculated. According to the strength theory, the risk of rockfall on the pipeline was determined. The results show that the falling rock mass of the slope is likely to collapse 40cm × 90cm × 75cm ~ 210cm × 195cm × 310cm, and the rockfall in the lower and middle slopes with a volume of more than 0.7m 3 greatly damages the pipeline, To a certain extent, reduce the impact of rockfall on the pipeline.
